The Wilds Offers Community Days for Local ResidentsCumberland, Ohio (June 10, 2008) – As a result of growing visitor attendance, the Wilds has extended its visitor season and is now open daily in June, July and August. Additionally, the Wilds will offer Community Day discounts on Mondays and Tuesdays in June, July, and August. Residents of Muskingum, Guernsey, Noble and Morgan counties can receive $2 off admission for a Safari Transport Pass by showing proof of residency. “We are hoping our expanded hours will be a convenience for more visitors who wish to visit during the week,” said Bobbie Dozer, Director of Visitor Operations at the Wilds. “As more travelers stay closer to home this season, we also hope that the discount will make it easier for local residents to bring their visiting friends and families to the Wilds.” Safari Transport and Open-Air Safari tours are available 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily in June, July, and August, and Saturdays and Sundays in September and October. Sunset Safaris are available by reservation on Saturday evenings through September. Family Camp weekends take place June 20-22, July 18-20, and August 1-3. A more adventurous “Into the Wilds” weekend family camp takes place July 4-6. “The Wilds is a perfect opportunity for that adventurous get-away right here in your back yard, so to speak,” said Toni Kellar, Marketing & Communications Officer at the Wilds. “Our new Family Camp weekends and the popular Sunset Safaris, along with the Safari Transport tours, are experiences that make you feel like you are worlds away.” For more information or to register for programs, visit www.thewilds.org, or call 740-638-5030 x2286. The mission of the Wilds, an independent, nonprofit organization,
is to advance conservation through science, education, and personal
