With 75 acres of fun and relaxation, Hellbender RV Campground at The Wilds offers a unique and immersive stay in the heart of Ohio's breathtaking wildlife preserve. From December 1, 2025 - February 28, 2026:
- Sites 12-20 are open and include electric (no water or sewage)
- Campground store will be open as needed
- Shower house is open

The Hellbender RV Campground will be located at the intersection of State Route 146 and Zion Ridge Road near The Wilds.
The campground and The Wilds are located within a beautiful yet rural part of southeastern Ohio. Expect roads that wind and curve during your travels.

- 47 paved, level, full-hookup RV sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp availability
- 26 primitive camping spots with potable water sources

So, what's a hellbender?
Hellbenders were once found across fast-flowing streams in the Eastern United States but have disappeared from most of their range due to disease, pollution, and habitat loss from agriculture, mining, and logging operations.
The Wilds and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium have partnered with the Ohio Division of Wildlife for more than a decade to raise and release young hellbenders into stream habitats, where environmental conditions have improved enough to support them!
