Winter Activities
Though winter means a break from offering tours at the Wilds, it’s still a busy place year-round. In addition to taking care of our managed species of wildlife and continuing work on research projects, we offer a few experiences for those brave enough to make the trip out here in the colder months:
- Winter Safari Tours The winter is a wonderful
time to see and experience the Wilds! Because the Wilds is still "at work" between
our general visitor seasons, we have created exclusive Winter Safari Tours
for you and your family to enjoy. See and learn about what takes place from
November through March at the Wilds. These special tours take place on select
Saturdays.
- The Lodge at the Wilds offers a special opportunity for our members to experience the Wilds year-round. Enjoy the secluded scenery, along with the comforts of this private luxury cabin.
- Birding at the Wilds is also exciting all year long. Wintering raptors are a common sight in the grasslands.
