Though winter means a break from offering tours at the Wilds, it’s still a busy place year-round. In addition to taking care of our managed species of wildlife and continuing work on research projects, we offer a few experiences for those brave enough to make the trip out here in the colder months:

Winter on the Wilds is a remarkable program that gives you and your family fun opportunities to discover unique winter wildlife at the Wilds. Programs include wildlife watching, hiking, adventures into the Wilds unique habitats, and some indoor activities.
The Lodge at the Wilds offers a special opportunity for our members to experience the Wilds year-round. Enjoy the secluded scenery, along with the comforts of this private luxury cabin.
Birding at the Wilds is also exciting all year long. Wintering raptors are a common sight in the grasslands.
