Bactrian deer are one of the least studied species in the world.
The Wilds is one of only three facilities in North America breeding this majestic deer. Habitat restoration and reintroduction have helped increase wild populations. The World Wildlife Foundation supported a program that increased the population of these deer from 350 in 1999 to 1,900 in 2011.
