This animal went extinct in the wild in the 1980s.

We have contributed to the reintroduction project in Chad by sending animals to provide new bloodlines for the reintroduction project.

Oryx have specialized kidneys to conserve water and they get most of the water from the plants they eat. They have the ability to manipulate their body temperature to reduce water loss from sweating.
