The Wilds is soliciting sealed proposals for the purpose of selecting a qualified firm to design, produce, and install interpretive graphics and informative exhibit components inside the public area of our new Giraffe Barn.

Pre-Proposal Meeting

A virtual pre-proposal meeting will be held on Monday, April 14th at 10:00 am EST. The Wilds requires notice with a list of names and associated company be provided to JSmith@TheWilds.org, JCampbell@TheWilds.org and DLough@TheWilds.org at least three business days prior (Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 by 4pm EST) in order to provide call-in information for the meeting. 

• No individual appointments subsequent to this meeting will be held. 
• The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the requested services with prospective respondents and to answer any questions concerning this
  RFP. 
• Questions regarding the RFP process or the technical content of the RFP, after the date of the pre-proposal meeting, are stated in the below document.

Private meetings will not be accommodated.

THE WILDS GIRAFFE BARN AND GUEST SUITE

The Wilds invites sealed bids from prospective contractors for the construction of a Giraffe Barn. A 21,166 SF, metal building / slab-on-grade, two-story facility with offices, giraffe holding, guest suite and support spaces at 14000 International Rd., Cumberland, OH 43732.

• Bid documents, specifications, and drawings are available (in digital and printed formats) at the SE Blueprint Co., 520 South Main Street, Suite 2411, Akron, OH 44311 [www.seblueprint.com] at the cost of reproduction and shipping.  No refunds provided. Documents may also be examined without charge during business hours at TC Architects, 430 Grant Street, Akron, OH 44311 and on The Wilds website at  https://www.thewilds.org/bids-and-requests.
• Bids will be received until 3:00 PM, local time, on February 27, 2025 and may be electronically submitted by e-mail to TC Architects to sallen@tcarchitects.com.
• All bids shall be based on the products and systems specified. Questions and requests for substitutions shall be submitted to the Architect’s office not later than 3:00 PM, February 13, 2025.
• A Pre-Bid meeting will be held on site at 11:00 AM on February 6, 2025.  Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend the meeting and shall meet in the main visitors parking lot of The Wilds. Notice is required with the list of names and associated company provided to sallen@tcarchitects.com, JSmith@thewilds.org and JCampbell@thewilds.org at least two (2) business days prior (February 4, 2024 by 4:00 pm) in order to grant access. No individual appointments subsequent to this meeting or any private meetings will be held.

THE WILDS HELLBENDER RV CAMPGROUND LANDSCAPING

The Wilds is seeking proposals to perform Landscaping at our new Hellbender RV Campground.

• Qualified landscaping companies are sought that are able to provide a variety of landscaping services to include installation of trees, stone, landscaping fabric, and other scope of work activities to secure and promote plant survivability as requested by The Wilds.

• A pre-bid meeting will be held on-site at 1:00 PM on Monday February 10, 2025 at The Wilds located at 14000 International Rd., Cumberland, OH  43732.  Statements of Proposals are due no later than 12:00 PM on Friday February 21, 2025.

The Wilds is seeking proposals to design and construct a stream, waterfall and pond for the African Painted Dog Exhibit.

Qualified contractors are sought that are able to design and create a stream, waterfall, and pool for the painted dogs. This will replace an existing pond with a more reflective and modern zoological design, which will contribute to a themed guest experience as visitors tour the Carnivore Center.
