This 2-mile hike traverses prairies, lakesides, and butterfly habitat on a rustic trail, providing an up-close connection with the natural wonders of The Wilds. Along the way, your guide will take you on a journey through the history and ecology of this beautiful land. Stop to smell the flowers, spot local wildlife, and discover how this world-class conservation center came to be.

Know Before You Go
- Hikers must be at least eight years old.
- Close-toed shoes are required. Hiking boots or rubber boots are recommended.
- Long pants and long socks strongly recommended as ticks can be present. Sunscreen is also recommended.
- The hike is approximately two miles long on rolling hills with some uneven terrain and tall grass.
- The hike lasts approximately an hour and a half and does not go into animal areas.
- Remember to bring water!
- Tours typically run rain or shine. Severe storms or slippery trails due to excessive rain are safety concerns and may cause a postponement or cancellation. For the safety of our guests, team members from The Wilds will determine day-of if hikes will occur.
